- Power Query and internet. Each VAT number is sent to the European Commission's VIES service. Power BI Desktop (17 Oct 2026): 4 live VIES checks and 6 offline input checks passed. Excel Power Query (19 Oct 2026): the 6 offline input checks and 4 live VIES checks passed (the first load got no answer for one number, which was not reported as invalid; Refresh All passed).
